The Criteria for Sewage Works Design serves as a guide for the design of sewage collection, treatment, and reclamation systems. It provides guidance to municipal wastewater collection and treatment facilities, including engineering report requirements. It is intended for use by municipal design engineers and consulting engineers.

in association with XCG Consultants Ltd. iv Criteria for Sewage Works Design Purpose of Manual This manual, formally called the Criteria for Sewage Works Design (CSWD) and often referred to as the “Orange Book,” serves as a guide for the design of sewage collection, treatment, and water reclamation systems.

The goals of the manual are: 1. To ensure that the design of sewage. These design criteria apply to the development, design, and submission of engineering documents for projects that convey or treat wastewater in the State of Tennessee as listed in Section The Division of Water Resources (Division) staff will use the design criteria for the review and approval of those projects.

However, these criteria. 1 Foreword This document replaces Guidelines for Sewage Works Design published by Ministry of Environment on January This design standard applies to all sewage works described in The Waterworks and Sewage Works Regulations and shall be used as a companion to the applicable Acts, Regulations and other provincial publications currently in use or as may be published from time to time.

DESIGN CRITERIA FOR SEWER SYSTEM FACILITIES The following design criteria shall be used for sewer systems to be included in Western’s service areas. Exceptions and deviations from these specifications must be approved in writing from Western’s staff.

WA Department of Ecology: Criteria for Sewage Works Design ("Orange Book") – Guide for the design of sewage collection, treatment, and reclamation systems (last revised ). Recommended standards for sewage works: policies for the review and approval of plans and specifications for sewage collection and treatment: a report of Committee of the Great Lakes--Upper Mississippi River Board of State Sanitary Engineers. The permit design flow is used to determine if a state permit is needed and the AWW flow is to determine the design of the treatment units.

If the two flows are different, a more detailed review will be needed explaining how the AWW design flow was calculated. This design process may be used even if an MPCA permit is not required.
